As VP HR, I have organized worldwide HR summits several times.
My approach to global HR summits:
- Clarify participants
- Clarify common topics / synergies – these are usually topics of personnel development or shared HR software
- Organize intercultural training (host country)
- Create work plan
- Create a leisure program as part of a get-together
- Lead / organize / document workshops, record and document work packages, and discuss follow-up
- Outlook
My approach at a local workshop:
- Clarification discussion / target expectation with the person responsible
- Elaboration of the topic, creation of the presentation
- Report and coordination of the presentation with the responsible person
- Final agreement
- Guidance through the workshop with result measurement
- Summary / Task distribution / Follow-up if desired
